Generals Fall To Bridgewater, 68-41

BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Bridgewater held Washington and Lee to just 31 percent shooting from the foor and forced 22 turnovers in posting a 68-41 win over the Generals on Saturday afternoon in ODAC women's basketball action.

The Eagles (8-1, 5-0) held a 29-20 lead with 2:41 remaining in the first half and then closed the half with a 7-0 run to take a 36-20 lead at the break. BC would cruise from that point on.

Junior forward Jessica Mentz (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial), who entered the game averaging 25.7 points and 13.0 rebounds per game, was limited to just eight points and five rebounds. Freshman forward Sarah Michaels (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) also tallied eight points, while junior center Megan Babst (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) added six points and 10 rebounds.

Bridgewater was led by Sarah Hagood's 18-point performance on 8-of-12 shooting. The Eagles shot 46 percent from the field and had 11 different players enter the scoring column.

Washington and Lee (4-4, 3-2) will be in action again on Monday as it travels to Virginia Wesleyan for an 8:00 pm contest.
