COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. -- Washington and Lee dropped two Centennial Conference matches on Saturday morning in the Ursinus Quadrangular in Collegeville, Pa. The Generals lost to host Ursinus, 32-9, before falling to Western Maryland, 34-9.
Against Ursinus, the Generals were led by junior 197-pounder Ezra Morse (Central Point, Ore./Crater), who picked up his 14th victory of the year, 3-0. Sophomore 133-pounder John Polena (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) and freshman 157-pounder Steve Saks (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) also picked up wins for W&L (3-5-1, 1-3).
In the loss to Western Maryland, freshman Cory Little (Charlotte, N.C./Independence) garnered six of his team's nine points with a pin at 0:53. Senior tri-captain John Sensing (Hockessin, Del./The Tatnall School) was the only other General to pick up a win in the match.
W&L will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 31, as it travel to Buena Vista, Va., to take on Southern Virginia at 7:30 pm.
