LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee dropped its first conference match to Muhlenberg, 26-13, on Wednesday evening in Centennial wrestling action in Lexington, Va.
The Generals won four matches on the day and were led by junior 197-pounder Ezra Morse (Central Point, Ore./Crater), who picked up four points for W&L with his 14-5 decision over Muhlenberg senior John Slokovitz (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem). The win improved Morse to a perfect 10-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Centennial.
Junior 125-pounder Ben Segal (Richmond, Va./Mills E. Godwin), senior 165-pounder Greg Valentine (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) and freshman Joe Mueller (San Diego, Calif./Mount Carmel) at 184 also won their respective matches.
With the win, Muhlenberg moves into first place in the Centennial at 6-2 overall, 2-0 in conference play.
W&L (1-2-1, 1-1) will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 20, as it hosts the nine-team W&L Invitational at 10:30 am.
