SWEET BRIAR, Va. -- Four different Generals scored two goals to help lead Washington and Lee to a 9-0 rout of Sweet Briar (1-10, 0-5 ODAC) on Wednesday afternoon in ODAC women's soccer action.
Junior midfielder Drew Powers (Atlanta, Ga./The Lovett School), sophomore forward Jennifer Thomas (High Point, N.C./High Point Central) and freshman forwards Fontaine Marcoux (Washington, D.C./The Potomac School) and Susannah Hewlett (Charlottesville, Va./Charlottesville) all notched two goals. Freshman forward Heather Coleman (Blackwood, N.J./Triton Regional) also tallied her first collegiate goal.
Marcoux also added two assists to lead W&L with a team-high six points.
Senior goalkeeper Lauren Harris (Cincinnati, Ohio/Indian Hill) made three saves to collect her third shutout of the season. The Generals outshot Sweet Briar, 37-4.
Washington and Lee (4-4, 3-3 ODAC) will return to action on Saturday, ending its five-game road swing with a trip to Norfolk, Va., to take on Virginia Wesleyan. Game time is set for 12:00 pm.
