W&L Volleyball Defeats Emory & Henry, 3-0

EMORY, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team defeated Emory & Henry, 15-12, 15-10, 15-12, on Tuesday evening in Emory, Va.

The Generals (4-2, 1-1) trailed 10-5 in the second game, but reeled off 10 straight points to win the game and cruise to its first ODAC victory of the season.

Junior outside hitter Leslie Fischbeck (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) led W&L with 12 kills, while junior middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert (Metairie, La./Sacred Heart) totaled nine kills and three blocks. Senior setters Pam Saulsbury (Ridgely, Md./North Caroline) and Katherine Kline (Potomac, Md./Holton-Arms) combined for 29 assists, 12 and 17, respectively.

Sophomore outside hitter Stacey Kimmel (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) led the Generals defense with nine digs.

The loss dropped Emory & Henry to 5-5 overall, 0-1 in the ODAC.

The Generals will be in action again on Thursday as they host Southern Virginia for a 6:30 pm match.
