LEXINGTON, Va. -- Senior midfielder Mindi Nolt (New Holland, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) scored on a penalty kick with 2:22 remaining in overtime to give Eastern Mennonite a 2-1 victory over Washington and Lee in ODAC women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.
The game-winner by Nolt was setup by a foul called near the W&L goal on a rush by sophomore forward Jennifer Morey (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata).
Freshman forward Fontaine Marcoux (Washington, D.C./The Potomac School) started the scoring for W&L at the 1:35 mark with a deflection off a throw-in from sophomore forward Jennifer Thomas (High Point, N.C./High Point Central).
The Royals tied the game at the 83:12 mark after freshman forward Ellie Lind (Durban, South Africa/Three Rivers) notched her seventh goal of the season on a pass from junior midfielder Deborah Good (Washington, D.C./Lancaster Mennonite).
Freshman goalkeeper Rochelle Yoder (Normal, Ill./Normal Comm. West) picked up her second straight victory for Eastern Mennonite by making 14 saves. Senior Lauren Harris took the loss for the Generals. Harris notched seven saves.
W&L returns to action on Tuesday as they travel to Bridgewater College. Game time is set for 4:00 pm.
