Lexington, Va. -- Washington and Lee sophomore defender Lindsey Duran (Colleyville, Texas/Fort Worth Country Day) scored with seven seconds remaining in double-overtime to give W&L a 2-1 win over Randolph-Macon in ODAC women's soccer action on Wednesday afternoon.
Duran hustled up from her defensive back position and fired a long range shot that beat Randolph-Macon freshman goalkeeper Ashley Seal (Richmond, Va./Collegiate). It was Duran's second goal of the season.
W&L freshman forward Fontaine Marcoux (Washington, D.C/The Potmac School) started the scoring at the 47:30 mark with an unassisted goal. Marcoux's tally was her fourth of the season.
Randolph-Macon's goal came at the 67:00 mark, when senior forward Cheryl Dickter (Middle Island, N.Y./Longwood) took a feed from freshman midfielder Leanna Van Osten (Winchester, Va./Sherando) off a free kick and fired home the game-tying goal.
Duran's game-winner gave the win to senior goalkeeper Lauren Harris (Cincinnati, Ohio/Indian Hill), who stopped 11 shots. Harris moves to 2-1 on the season.
Washington and Lee outshot the Yellow Jackets, 34-15.
The Generals will host Eastern Mennonite on Saturday at 11:00 am.
