EMORY, Va. -- Emory & Henry held W&L to just 29 percent shooting from the floor in posting a 53-42 win over the Generals on Saturday afternoon in Emory, Va.
The Wasps (12-6, 11-3) shot 37 percent for the game, but scored 14 points off of 18 Washington and Lee turnovers.
The Generals (11-8, 8-7) were led by sophomore forward Jessica Mentz (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial), who totaled 15 points and 13 rebounds. Senior guard Jessica Morton (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill) tallied seven points and two assists.
Emory & Henry was led by Kelly Smith, who scored 19 points and collected six rebounds. Jenny Gibson tallied 10 points and seven rebounds in the win.
Washington and Lee will return to action on Tuesday as it hosts Randolph-Macon in a 7:00 pm contest.
