LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team won its ninth match in a row, defeating Sweet Briar, 15-0, 15-9, 15-1, on Wednesday evening at the Warner Center.
The Generals served out all 15 points in the first game and cruised from that point on.
Freshman outside hitter Kristin Shelton (Austin, Texas/McCallum) led the GeneralsÕ offense with six kills in 10 attempts. She also totaled two blocks and one ace.
Junior outside hitter Lee Charbonnet (New Orleans, La./Benjamin Franklin) tallied three kills and a team-high six digs, while senior setter Katherine Kline (Potomac, Md./Holton-Arms) notched six aces and 12 assists.
The Generals improved to 16-5 overall, 7-1 in the ODAC, while Sweet Briar fell to 3-18 overall, 1-7 in the ODAC.
W&L will be in action again on Saturday as it hosts Hollins in a 1:00 pm match.
