LEXINGTON, Va. -- Freshman forward Fontaine Marcoux (Washington, D.C./The Potomac School) tallied a goal and three assists in the second half to lead Washington and Lee to a 5-1 victory over Ferrum in women's soccer action on Wednesday afternoon.
Junior midfielder Kate Bidwell (Pensacola, Fla./Escambia) started the scoring for the Generals at the 54:06 mark with an assist from Marcoux.
Ferrum (3-8) fought back three minutes later with a goal from Mary Jennette to tie the score at 1-1. Marcoux then scored the game-winner in the 72nd minute off a pass from Bidwell.
Bidwell added a goal and two assists, while sophomore forward Ruth-Hill Yielding (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) scored two late second half goals for W&L (9-5).
Washington and Lee will return to action on Saturday afternoon when it hosts Roanoke at 11:00 am in the final ODAC regular-season contest for both squads.
