W&L Men's Soccer Wins Fourth Straight, 3-1

EMORY, Va. -- Three different Generals scored goals to lead Washington and Lee to a 3-1 victory over Emory & Henry on Sunday afternoon in ODAC men's soccer action.

The win gave Washington and Lee (11-1, 7-1 ODAC) its 11th win of the season which is one shy of tieing the school record of 12 set in 1996 when it went 12-6.

Freshman midfielder Phil Miller (Kingwood, Texas/Kingwood) scored for the third straight game just four minutes into the contest to give the Generals a 1-0 lead.

Senior forward Andy Crawford (Durham, N.C./Durham Academy) put W&L in front 2-0 in the 55th minute off an assist from senior midfielder Jon Wilson (Newport News, Va./Hampton Roads).

Emory & Henry (2-8-3, 0-5-1 ODAC) fought back in the 72nd minute with an unassisted goal by Danny Almond. The Generals then rounded out the scoring four minutes later on a goal by sophomore forward Brad Murphy (Mantoloking, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) with an assist from freshman midfielder Jacob Stoehr (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights).

W&L will return home to host Bridgewater on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 pm in its final regular-season ODAC contest.
