LEXINGTON, Va. -- Sophomore center Megan Babst (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) scored 17 points to help lead Washington and Lee to a 69-44 win over Randolph-Macon Woman's College on Thursday evening in Lynchburg, Va.
The Generals (7-5, 5-4) led just 21-20 late in the first half before outscoring the WildCats 8-0 over the final minutes to take a 29-20 halftime advantage. W&L would cruise from that point on.
Sophomore forward Jessica Mentz (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) tallied16 points followed by senior guard Jessica Morton (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill) with 15 points and sophomore forward Carter Thomas (Atlanta, Ga./Westminster) with 12 points.
Randolph-Macon Woman's College (1-10, 1-8) was led by senior forward Tara Carleton's 19-point effort. Senior guard Kai Felton tallied 14 points.
W&L will return to action on Saturday afternoon as it travels to Randolph-Macon for a 2:00 pm game with the Yellow Jackets.
