W&L Women's Soccer Posts A 2-0 Win At Eastern Mennonite

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's soccer team improved its record to 5-1 overall, 4-0 ODAC, with a 2-0 victory at Eastern Mennonite on Wednesday afternoon.

The Generals took a 1-0 lead with 43:30 gone-by as senior defender Ansley Miller (Athens, Ga./Athens Academy) scored off an assist from junior forward Amanda McDermott (The Woodlands, Texas/Cooper).

W&L then tallied the final goal of the contest at the 64:30 mark as junior midfielder Margaret-Hunter Turner (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry) took an assist from sophomore midfielder Kate Bidwell (Pensacola, Fla./Escambia) and beat EMU goalkeeper Tara Froese.

Senior Stephanie McKnight (Frederick, Md./Frederick), junior Lauren Harris (Cincinnati, Ohio/Indian Hill), and sophomore Kate Mobley (Atlanta, Ga./Pace Academy) combined for the shutout in goal for the Generals.

W&L oushot the Royals (1-5, 0-4) in the contest by an 18-7 count.

W&L will return to action on Saturday as it travels to North Carolina Wesleyan for a 12:00 pm contest.
