W&L Falls To Virginia Wesleyan In Men's Soccer

NORFOLK, Va. -- Washington and Lee lost its second ODAC match of the year on Saturday by a score of 4-2 to the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan College.

Virginia Wesleyan (4-3, 1-1 ODAC) forward Ryan Malloy tallied three goals and an assist for the Marlins. Malloy scored twice in the last 7:28 of the game to break a 2-2 deadlock. The Generals (1-4, 0-2 ODAC) were led by senior forward Jamie Parker (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) who scored both W&L goals. Parker's first goal came with 22 minutes gone in the match to even the score at 1-1. He later scored with 29:22 remaining to once again knot the score, this time at 2-2.

Freshman goalkeeper Brad Hearn (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) recorded four saves for the Generals.

The Generals will look to claim their first ODAC win of the season when they host Hampden-Sydney on Wednesday, September 29. Gametime is set for 4:00 pm.
