Men's Soccer Loses At Catholic

WASHINGTON D.C. -- Washington and Lee opened its men's soccer season Saturday with a 2-1 loss against the Cardinals of Catholic University.

The Generals (0-1) fell behind early on a penalty kick goal by Catholic. Catholic (3-1) added another goal early in the second half to up their lead to 2-0. W&L, however, responded with a goal by sophomore Andrew Grimes (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay) off a feed from Jason Miller (Boone, N.C./Watauga). With the score standing at 2-1, the Cardinals shifted into a defensive mode and held on for the 2-1 victory.

The Generals will look for their first win when they return to action Monday, September 13 versus Southern Virginia College at 4:30 PM.
