GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team was defeated by Greensboro College, 16-14, 3-15, 16-14, 4-15, 7-15, on Friday evening in Greensboro, N.C.
The Generals, who are now 12-3 overall, were led by sophomore middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert (Metairie, La./Sacred Heart), who totaled 21 kills and 10 digs. Senior outside hitter Nancy Reinhart (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) recorded 12 kills and 14 digs, setting a new Old Dominion Athletic Conference record for career digs (1305).
Junior outside hitter Tori Hays (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe) notched nine kills and 13 digs, while junior setter Katherine Kline (Potomac, Md./Holton-Arms) amassed a team-high 23 assists.
Greensboro (17-4) was led by Tineta McMillan, who totaled a game-high 27 kills.
W&L, currently ranked eighth in the South Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), will be in action again tomorrow afternoon when it takes on Guilford in Greensboro. Start time is set for 2:00 pm.
