LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team upped its ODAC record to 6-0 on the season with a 15-4, 15-3, 15-2, win over Sweet Briar on Tuesday evening at the Warner Center.
The Generals, who are now 12-2 overall, were led by sophomore middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert (Metairie, La./Sacred Heart), who totaled five kills, five digs, and four aces. Senior outside hitter Nancy Reinhart (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) recorded four kills, four aces, and six digs to move within 10 digs of claiming the ODAC record for career digs. Junior outside hitter Tori Hays (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe) notched 10 digs and junior setter Pam Saulsbury (Ridgely, Md./North Caroline) amassed 13 assists.
With the loss, Sweet Briar fell to 3-10 overall, 0-6 in the ODAC.
W&L is currently ranked eighth in the South Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). The Generals will next face the seventh ranked team in Greensboro College on Friday evening at 7:00 pm.
