W&L Volleyball Splits Pair of Matches

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday afternoon in Lexington, Va. The Generals began the day with a 15-9, 15-9, 10-15, 15-12 win over Greensboro College. W&L dropped its second match of the day to Centre College by a count of 11-15, 15-12, 15-11, 15-7. Also, in a neutral site match, Centre defeated Greensboro by a score of 15-4, 12-15, 15-10, and 16-14.

In the match against Greensboro (20-8), senior outside hitter Nancy Reinhart (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) led the Generals with 12 kills and 21 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert (Metarie, La./Sacred Heart) dominated the net play with 11 kills, 3 solo blocks, and 1 block assist. Junior outside hitter Tori Hays (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe) anchored the back line with 21 digs while junior setter Katherine Kline (Potomac, Md./Holton-Arms) provided 33 set assists for W&L (17-6).

Against Centre (9-18), W&L was led by Ruckert with 23 kills and 15 digs. Reinhart posted 12 kills and 27 digs, and freshman outside hitter Stacy Kimmel (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) posted seven kills and 17 digs. Kline led the squad with 32 assists.

With her totals from the two matches, Reinhart moved to within seven kills of breaking the all-time ODAC mark for career kills. She will look to surpass the record when the Generals are in action again on October 26, against Roanoke College. The match is set for 6:30 pm in Roanoke, Va.
