LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee improved to 8-0 in the ODAC with a 15-6, 15-3, 15-3 victory over Eastern Mennonite in volleyball action on Thursday evening.
The Generals, 16-5 overall, were led by sophomore middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert (Metairie, La./Sacred Heart), who totaled 11 kills and eight digs. Senior outside hitter Nancy Reinhart (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) tallied six kills and 12 digs and is now just 31 kills from breaking the ODAC career record.
Junior setter Katherine Kline (Potomac, Md./Holton-Arms) notched a team-high 20 assists for the Generals, who have now won 21 consecutive regular season ODAC matches. In addition, W&L raised its record in the Warner Center to 47-3 over the last four seasons.
Eastern Mennonite (8-15, 6-4) was led by freshman offensive specialist Bonnie Berry (Dalton, Ohio/Central Christian), who tallied seven kills and nine digs. Junior middle hitter Elaine Froese (St. Thomas, Ont./Central Elgin) led the Royals with 12 digs, while freshman setter Kendra Conrad (Wayland, Iowa/Iowa Mennonite) totaled a team-high 18 assists.
The Generals will next play on Saturday as they host Greensboro College and Centre College in a tri-match. Gametimes are set for 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
