EMORY, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's soccer team triumphed over the Wasps of Emory & Henry by a count of 1-0 on Thursday afternoon in Emory, Va.
Sophomore forward Noelle Beckman (Asheville, N.C./A.C. Reynolds) scored the only goal of the match at the 58:20 mark. The goal was her third of the season. The Generals held the Wasps (4-10-3, 2-7-2 ODAC) to only three shots during the contest. Junior Lauren Harris (Cincinnati, Ohio/Indian Hill) and sophomore Kate Mobley (Atlanta, Ga./Pace Academy) split time in goal for W&L, each recording one save. Emory and Henry goalkeeper Melissa Berry garnered eight saves on the day. W&L (10-5, 8-2 ODAC) outshot the Wasps 18-3.
For its final regular-season match of the year, W&L will travel to Randolph-Macon on Saturday, October 23. Gametime is set for 2:00 pm.
