W&L Outlasts Guilford, 3-2, In Women's Soccer

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Washington and Lee women's soccer team extended its perfect ODAC record with an exciting 3-2 win over Guilford College on Saturday.

Junior midfielder Shana Levine (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) opened the scoring just 16:04 into the match when she redirected a free kick from junior midfielder Liz Olson (Brookfield, Conn./Loomis-Chaffee). The Quakers (4-7, 2-4 ODAC) tied the game at the 47:17 mark when Kerrie Campbell scored the first of her two goals. Sophomore midfielder Noelle Beckman (Asheville, N.C./A.C. Reynolds) retaliated for W&L (7-3, 6-0 ODAC) with her second goal of the season just 17:58 later. Campbell once again scored for Guilford, this time knotting the score at 2-2, before sophomore forward Lindsay Williams (Atlanta, Ga./Phillips Acad.) notched the game-winner on a header for the Generals with just 3:52 remaining.

Washington and Lee outshot Guilford by a count of 32-10 during the game.

For their next match, the Generals will travel to Roanoke College on Wednesday, October 6. Gametime is set for 4:00 pm.
