Generals Fall at EMU, 77-65

Harrisonburg, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's basketball team lost its second straight game on Thursday night, falling at Eastern Mennonite by a 77-65 score.

The Royals jumped out to a 37-24 halftime lead and never looked back, as they cruised to the 12-point victory. EMU shot 48 percent from the floor and 40 percent from beyond the three-point arc.

The Generals were led by sophomore guard Chad Braley (Huntington, W.Va./ Paul Blazer) who scored 13 points. Freshman guard Ben Johns (Narbeth, Pa./ Harriton) added nine points. Junior center Rich Peterson (Trumbull, Conn./ Trumbull) scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds in only 17 minutes of play, while freshman forward Bob Bustamante (Miami, Fla./ Christopher Columbus) chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.

EMU was paced by senior guard Matt Yoder, who scored 20 points. Junior guard Keion Green (Philadelphia, Pa./ Christopher Dock) scored 17.

The Generals will look for their first win of the new year, when they host arch-rival Roanoke on Saturday afternoon at 4:00. The game will be preceded at the Warner Center by a women's team clash with Roanoke at 2:00.
