BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's basketball team dropped to 4-9 on the season (3-6 ODAC) with a 70-53 loss at Bridgewater on Tuesday evening.

Bridgewater (12-2, 9-1) surged to an early 9-0 lead with 15:02 remaining in the opening half, but the Generals would go on a 14-4 run from that point to take a 14-13 lead with 9:26 remaining. The W&L lead would be short-lived, however, as the Eagle s ende d the half with a 17-5 spurt to take a 30-19 lead that they would not surrender.

The Generals outrebounded BC 31-26 and shot nearly 44 percent from the field, but couldn't overcome 27 turnovers in the game.

Junior guard Ansley Miller (Athens, Ga./Athens Academy) paced W&L with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting and senior forward Chrissy Burghardt (Rockaway, N.J./ Morris Hills) recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds./ P

Bridgewater was led by Amanda Osborn's 18 points and Angela Osborn's 17 points.

The Generals will be in action again on Sat., Jan. 23, when they travel to Guilford for a 4:00 pm contest with the Quakers.
