HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Eastern Mennonite's Jon Moyer scored the game-winning goal on a blast from just inside the penalty area at the 68:26 mark to help lead the Royals past Washington and Lee, 2-1, in ODAC men's soccer action.

After playing through a scoreless opening half, EMU (5-3-1, 2-0-1 ODAC) opened the scoring with 65:51 elapsed when Jamie Miller took a pass from Aaron Buckwalter and deposited the ball in the net for a 1-0 lead. Just minutes later, Moyer scored his goal on an assist from Cedric Steiner to give the Royals a lead they would not relinquish.

W&L (2-2-1, 0-2-1 ODAC) scored its only tally of the game when senior forward Jon Wright (Middlebury, Conn./Taft) scored an unassisted goal with 85:42 gone- by.

Senior goalkeeper E.J. Murphy (Glenside, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) posted one save in goal for the Generals. Joe El-Attar made three stops in goal for the Royals.

EMU outshot W&L 10-9 in the contest, with both teams taking three corner kicks.

W&L will be in action again on October 3 when it hosts Guilford in an ODAC match slated for an 11:30 am start.
