Men's Soccer Shutout By No. 18 Va. Wesleyan, 3-0

LEXINGTON, VA -- No. 18 Virginia Wesleyan continued its perfect season on Saturday afternoon as they shutout previously unbeaten Washington and Lee at Liberty Hall Fields. The game was scoreless until 4:01 remained in the first half, when VWC's junior forward Daniel McVey took a pass from junior midfielder Scott Wheatley to give the Blue Marlins a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Sophomore forward Vincent Sciullo and sophomore forward Justin Hauck scored in the second half to put the game away for the Blue Marlins in the second half, en route to the 3-0 victory.

W&L senior forward Sam Chase was honored before the game on Saturday as athletic director Mike Walsh presented him the game ball from last week's game vs. Catholic in which Chase became the all-time leading goal scorer at W&L. Chase in turn presented the ball to his parents, Sam and Nancy Chase.

The Generals will attempt to get back on the winning track as they travel to Emory Va. to face Emory and Henry on Thursday afternoon. Kick-off will be at 4:30.
