LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Randolph-Macon Women's College WildCats defeated Washington and Lee, 86-79, in a foul-plangued game in Lynchburg on Tuesday evening.
A total of 56 fouls were called in the contest (28 each team) as the WildCats erased a nine-point deficit to post the seven-point win.
The Generals (1-5, 0-2) were led in scoring by junior guard Ansley Miller (Athens, Ga./Athens), who tied a W&L record with 26 points. Junior guard Jessica Morton (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill) scored 19 points and senior forward Chrissy Burghardt (R ockawa y, N.J./Morris Hills) posted a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
With the win, RMWC upped its mark to 3-3 overall, 1-2 in the ODAC.
The Generals will be in action again on January 2, when they travel to Virginia Wesleyan for a 5:00 pm contest.
