LEXINGTON, VA -- Washington and Lee's men's soccer team outshot Lynchburg on Wednesday afternoon, 25-4 on its way to a 5-0 victory, its third in a row. Sophomore back Ryan Nelson (Bel Air, Md./ C. Milton Wright) put the Generals ahead early, scoring the first goal of his career at the 2:26 mark. Sophomore midfielder Scott Lofranco (Roanoke, Va./ North Cross) then put his name in the scoring column twice, scoring two goals in less than three minutes. He scored on a pass from freshman midfielder Paul Wallace (Roanoke,Va./ Patrick Henry) at 33:50 and again unassisted at the 36:42 mark. In the second half, the Generals benefited from the first two goals of Wallace's career. He scored at the 70:30 and 79:25 marks respectively to put the game away for the Generals. Senior goalkeeper E.J. Murphy recorded four saves in his second shutout of the season. The Generals will take their three-game winning streak to Farmville, Va. on Saturday for a match-up at Hampden-Sydney. Kick-off is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
