W&L Volleyball Defeats Roanoke, 3-0

LEXINGTON, Va. -- On Saturday afternoon, the Washington and Lee volleyball team defeated Roanoke College, 15-10, 15-1, 15-7, to finish its regular season with a 23-2 overall record and a perfect 10-0 ODAC mark.

Junior outside hitter Nancy Reinhart (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) had nine digs in the match, breaking her own school single-season dig record (353) that she set last season. She now claims 361 digs in 1998. Reinhart's nine digs also gave her the W&L career digs record (1,041) surpassing the old mark of 1,036 held by Leslie Hess (1989-92).

Senior middle blocker Megan Snodgrass (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) also set a W&L career mark, finishing the day with 386 career games played, eclipsing the old mark of 383 held by Hilary Martin (1994-97). Snodgrass finished the match with seven kills.

Freshman middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert (Metairie, La./Sacred Heart) had a team-high nine kills and senior setter Lee Ann Gschwind (Islip, N.Y./Islip) had a team-high 18 kills in the final home match of her career.

With the loss, Roanoke dropped to 13-10 overall, 6-4 in the ODAC.

W&L will next be in action when it participates in the ODAC Tournament held November 6-7 at Bridgewater College. The Generals will be the tournament's No. 1 seed.
