LEXINGTON, Va. -- Randolph-Macon rolled up 466 yards of total offense, 345 through the air, while holding Washington and Lee to just 205 totals yards in posting a 34-6 win over the Generals.
Junior quarterback Brian Partlow (Winchester, Va./Handley) opened the scoring for the Yellow Jackets (3-1, 1-0 ODAC) with 4:51 remaining in the first quarter when he hit sophomore wide-out Michael Becker (Richmond, Va./Freeman) on a three-yard scoring str ike to make it 7-0 Randolph-Macon.
Then, with 13:40 remaining in the second quarter, Partlow tossed his second of five touchdown passes on the day, hitting junior wide receiver Sean Eaton (Chesterfield, Va./Manchester) with a four-yard strike to make it 14-0 R-MC.
Washington and Lee would score its only points of the game in the second period on two field goals by sophomore placekicker Andy Vendig (Arlington, Va./Washington-Lee), one from 32 yards and another from 37 yards on the last play of the first half.
The Generals would not challenge the Yellow Jackets from that point on.
Partlow completed 25-of-51 passes for 342 yards. He was intercepted three times by the W&L (1-3, 0-2 ODAC) defense. Becker paced the Yellow Jacket receiving core with eight catches for 97 yards.
Junior quarterback Christian Batcheller (Stuart, Va./Patrick County) completed 22-of-38 attempts for 146 yards to lead the Generals offensive attack.
Washington and Lee will resume play on October 10, when they travel to Davidson, N.C., to take on the Davidson Wildcats.
