W&L Captures ODAC Regular Season Crown With 2-1 Win Over Macon

LEXINGTON, VA -- Washington and Lee's women's soccer team clinched its first Old Dominion Athletic Conference regular season title on Saturday afternoon, when it defeated conference-rival Randolph-Macon at Liberty Hall Fields.

Starting for the first time this season, sophomore Lindsay Williams (Atlanta, Ga./ Phillips Academy) put the Generals on top early, when she scored an unassisted goal 3:50 into the game. The Yellow Jackets tied the game up quickly, when freshman midfielder Ashley Hull (Frederick, Md./ Thomas Jefferson) scored off a corner kick at the 6:02 mark. W&L senior forward Karin Treese (Frederick, Md./ Thomas Johnson) then scored the game-winner at the 60:47 mark in her final regular season game at Liberty Hall Fields.

Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Harris (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Indian Hill) had eight saves in goal for W&L, all in the second half.

Washington and Lee will now host a first round Old Dominion Athletic Conference game on Tuesday afternoon. The opponent and starting time will be determined on Sunday evening. The Generals will host the tournament semifinals on Friday afternoon and the championship game, next Saturday afternoon.
