W&L Finishes Off Ferrum To Go 7-0-1 In Last Eight

LEXINGTON, VA -- Washington and Lee's men's soccer team tied a school record on Tuesday afternoon when they played their eighth consecutive game without a loss by defeating Ferrum College, 3-0 at Liberty Hall Fields. The Generals are 7-0-1 in the eight-game span.

After a scoreless first half, junior midfielder Scott LeTourneau (Mooresville, N.C./ Providence Day) put the Generals on top, just 31 seconds into the second half with his first goal of the season. Junior midfielder Jamie Parker (Pittsford, N.Y./ Pittsford Sutherland) scored his eighth goal the season at the 54:34 mark to give the Generals a 2-0 lead. Sophomore midfielder Scott Lofranco (Roanoke, Va./ North Cross) finished off the General scoring when he put in his fourth goal of the season on a header off of freshman Paul Wallace's (Roanoke, Va./ Patrick Henry) corner kick.

Senior goalkeeper E.J. Murphy (Glenside, Pa./ Chestnut Hill Academy) collected his sixth shutout of the season.

The Generals will try to break the school record for consecutive games played without a loss when they face Old Dominion Athletic Conference-rival Randolph-Macon on Saturday afternoon at Liberty Hall Fields. Kick-off will be at 3:00.
