Omahri Sturdivant joined the men's and women's track and field staff as an assistant coach and operations coordinator in November of 2022.
Sturdivant is a graduate of the University of Albany, State University of New York where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communication in 2020 and a Master of Science in Higher Education in May 2022.
While at U Albany, Sturdivant held a variety of positions in the athletics department within facilities and event management in addition to assisting the track and field teams, specifically the horizontal jumps student-athletes. His coaching career began in 2018 as a horizontal jumps coach for the Nike Track and Field Camp.
As a competitor, the Amsterdam, New York native claimed three America East Championship titles, the 2019 and 2020 Indoor Triple Jump titles and was a member of the 2021 Outdoor 4x400 meter relay team. In Spring 2021, qualified for the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Championship in the triple jump. He also picked up six America East All-Conference accolades for the Great Danes.
Prior to coming to Lexington, Omahri worked as a residential program assistant at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talent Youth in Los Angeles, Calif.
Sturdivant will assist in all aspects of the track and field programs.
