Austin Caldwell

Austin Caldwell is in his first season as assistant men's and women's swimming coach at W&L.

Caldwell joined the W&L athletics department after serving as an assistant swimming coach with the Mason Manta Rays swimming club in Mason, Ohio since the fall of 2015.  He was responsible for designing practices, leading in and out of the pool training and leading the team in travel meets.  Six of his swimmers qualified for the 2016 Olympic Trials and the club was ranked first in Ohio and 49th nationally by USA Swimming Virtual Club Championships.

Caldwell is a 2015 graduate of Kenyon College where he earned a bachelor of arts as an economics and history double major.  In the pool, he helped lead Kenyon to a trio of Division III National Team Championships after participating on the swimming team at the University of Pittsburgh as a first-year.  He was also a qualifier for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials. 

A 20-time NCAA Division III All-American, Caldwell twice won the Division III title in the 200 freestyle.  Additionally, he won two titles as a member of the 200 free relay and another with the 400 free relay squad.  He was voted the Team MVP as a junior and was the North Coast Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Year as a senior.
