Week of Apr. 23 - Apr. 29

Tuesday, 4/25
First-year Evan Langhammer (Men's Track and Field; Field Athlete of the Week) - Langhammer posted a new career-high 4.88 meter clearance in the pole vault event at Salisbury's Eastern Shore Challenge... Langhammer owns the first and second top-marks in the south region this season and currently is in 10th place nationally going into ODAC Championship season... The win on Saturday marks five first place finishes for the rookie's outdoor campaign...

Sophomore Quinlin Zunk (Women's Track and Field; Field Athlete of the Week) - Zunk's performance in three events boosted the W&L women's track and field team to a first place finish in team scoring at Salisbury...  Zunk posted three top-5 finishes which included a pair of wins... Zunk placed first in the javelin (37.20 meters) and discus (39.13 meters) and fourth in the hammer (40.80 meters)... the 37.20 meters javelin throw moved into the program's top-5 list at No. 3...

Monday, 4/24
Senior Hudson Pokorny (Men's Lacrosse; Off. Player of the Week) - Pokorny lit up the scoreboard in a 3-0 week for the eighth-ranked Generals, logging 19 points on seven goals and 12 assists, while recording no less than six points in each game ... in their closest game of the week, a 16-12 road win against Roanoke, Pokorny racked up six points with five assists to help head coach Gene McCabe secure his 250th career coaching win ... Pokorny turned around and notched seven points on four goals and three assists in a 20-10 win at Grove City on Friday, before scoring six points (all in the first quarter) on two goals and four assists in a 26-1 win over Randolph the next day.

Senior Warren Seeds (Men's Lacrosse; Def. Player of the Week) - Seeds was stellar between the pipes in W&L's three wins last week ... he totaled 28 saves and 22 goals allowed (.560) in the three games, while covering 135:00 in goal for a goals-against average of 9.78 ... he opened the week by stopping 16-of-28 (.571) shots in the 16-12 win over Roanoke, before making 11 saves with 10 goals allowed against Grove City ... Seeds played just the first quarter against Randolph and saved the lone shot he faced.

Sophomore Evan Erb (Men's Tennis) - Erb helped the No. 25 Generals close out the week with a 1-1 record against Div. II Rollins and NAIA Warner ... in a team loss to Rollins, Erb defeated Efe Comu at No. 1 after dropping the first set, 6-0, with wins of 6-4, 1-0 (10-4) in the next two sets ... he and doubles partner Evan Brady fell in that match at No. 1 to Comu and Luke Quaynor, 1-6 ... W&L closed its regular season with a 9-0 win over Warner, that saw Erb go 2-0 from the top spots ... he defeated Lorenzo Ocantos, 7-5, 6-2, with an 8-4 with Brady over Nicolas Fertonani and Davide Pelletti.

First-year Lauren Long (Women's Tennis) - Long, the No. 2-rated player in the region, faced her toughest competition of the year ... she went a combined 3-0 in singles and 3-1 in doubles, all at the No. 1 positions, while facing two regionally-ranked singles opponents and three Top 10 regionally-ranked doubles pairings ... partnering with Gabi Moss as the No. 6 rated duo in the Atlantic South Region, Long and Moss defeated Sweet Briar's Ruth de Souza and Allison Wandling (No. 8 region), 8-7 (7-4) and No. 15 Johns Hopkins' Kamila Wong and Jay Xiao (No. 5 region), 8-2 ... Long and Moss also added a win at No. 1 against Washington College's Bin Nguyen and Eva Kading ... In singles play, Long defeated SBC's de Souza, 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-3), UMW's Abby Moghtader (No. 10 region), 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, and she closed out the week with a comeback 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 victory over regionally seventh-ranked MaryBeth Hurley of JHU.

Tuesday, 4/11
Sophomore Ashley D'Ambrosia (Women's Track and Field) D'Ambrosia won the pole vault event at the North River Track and Field Meet hosted by Bridgewater College on Saturday... The sophomore cleared a personal best height of 3.45 meters to earn the win and her first ODAC Field Athlete of the Week honor

Monday, 4/10
Junior Hanna Bishop (Women's Lacrosse)  - Bishop (Offensive Player of the Week) tallied four goals for the No. 2 Generals in a 17-7 win over No. 18 Roanoke College in the only game of the week for W&L... Bishop orchestrated the offense and was a threat on transition defense and picked up one caused turnover for her efforts... the junior  now sits in the fifth position of the career scoring list with 141 goals in just 47 contests played...

Week of Apr. 2 - Apr. 8

Monday, 4/3
Sophomore Evan Erb (Men's Tennis) - had a perfect 5-0 week in three doubles and two singles matches, all in the top positions, to help the 25th-ranked Generals to a 3-0 week in ODAC play ... paired with Evan Brady in all three doubles matches and won 8-0, 8-4 and 8-5 against Bridgewater, Lynchburg and Averett, respectively ... also played in singles in the Lynchburg and Averett matches, where he won 4-of-5 sets ... Lynchburg's Levi Vigdorchik took Erb to a third-set, 10-point break, but Erb prevailed, 6-1, 4-6, 10-5 ... Erb then defeated Shori Nishizoe of Averett on Saturday, 6-1, 6-3. 

Senior Allie Schwab (Women's Lacrosse)  - Co-Captain Schwab (Offensive Player of the Week) tallied five goals and an assist for the the second-ranked Generals on a 2-0 week with ODAC wins over Shenandoah and Guilford.. Schwab tallied three goals at Shenandoah including her 100th career goal and added a pair of scores and an assist at home over the Quakers... She added a ground ball in the efforts.

Senior Sam Van Belle (Women's Lacrosse)  - Co-captain Van Belle (Defensive Player of the Week) anchored the defense in a pair of team efforts with three ground balls and caused turnovers in the 2-0 week... Van Belle and the defense stifled Shenandoah by holding the Hornets to just 16 shots and caused nine of the home team's 15 turnovers... The No. 2 Generals went 19-20 in clearing attempts over the two games.

First-year Lauren Long (Women's Tennis) - Long posted another strong week for No. 25 W&L, as she went a perfect 6-0 in three No. 1 singles and doubles each for the 3-0 Generals ... her best results came in a 9-0 win over No. 33 Christopher Newport, as she defeated Raine Weis, No. 5 in the region, by a 6-4, 6-0 score ... Long and Gabi Moss then faced the regionally third-ranked duo of Weis and Tessa Trate and won 8-7 (9-7) ... Long cruised in her other four matches of the week, all against ODAC opposition ... She and Moss defeated Averett's Keira Gunning and Brenda Poulakida, 8-3, and VWU's Alexa Brewster and Christine Zalameda, 8-1, to round out her doubles results ... also defeated Gunning and Brewster in singles play by respective 6-3, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-1 set scores.

Week of Mar. 26 - Apr. 1

Monday, 3/27
First-year Lauren Long (Women's Tennis) - Long had a strong week in two team matches, helping No. 22 W&L to a nonconference win and an ODAC win ... in a 7-2 win over Bridgewater, Long dropped just one game across her doubles and singles efforts while playing at the top spot in both ... she defeated Emma Nesselrodt and Ryan Roeber with Margaret Carlton, 8-0, before going on to down Nesselrodt, 6-1, 6-0, in singles ... she and Gabi Moss then partnered up in an 8-1 team win over F&M on Saturday for an 8-3 win over Cassidy Landau and Mackenzie Sherman ... Long then cruised to victory over Landau, 6-1, 6-1 in singles.

Wednesday, 3/29
Senior Pierce Robinson (Men's Golf)  - Robinson tied for first at the Wynlakes Intercollegiate in the 18 hole tournament on Tuesday... Robinson shot a score 69 (-3) to sit atop of the individual leader board with six others... He recorded a team-best five birdies an hit a 3.70 average on Par 4s... the senior captain now has four rounds in the 60s and six par or better finishes this year... The Generals won the team score with a 284 (-4) score card for the event... 

Week of Mar. 19 - Mar. 25

Wednesday, 3/22
Sophomore Marcella Mercer (Women's Golf)  - Mercer finished tied for 25th in the 120 player field at the Jekyll Island Collegiate after posting 231 strokes (+15) at Indian Mound with rounds of 76, 75 and 80... Over the tournament she recorded par 29 times and birdied six holes split between the first two rounds... She placed in the top-20 in Par 4 scoring with an average of 4.27 strokes per Par 4 (+8)... The Generals finished 9th of 24 teams... This marks Mercer's first ODAC weekly honor... 

Monday, 3/20
Junior Walker McKnight (Women's Lacrosse)  - McKnight led all scorers in the Blue and White's 16-5 upset win over then-ranked No. 2 Tufts University... McKnight converted five of her six shooting attempts into points on the scoreboard and was a perfect 3-for-3 from the 8-meter hashes... She added one ground ball to her stat line and helped W&L to 17 successful clears out of 18 attempts in the midfield... This marks her first career weekly award...

Junior Caroline Kranich (Women's Lacrosse)  - Kranich (Defensive Player of the Week) faced 23 shots, 18 on goal, and made a career-high 13 stops in the 16-5 upset win over then-ranked No. 2 Tufts University... She recorded a .722 save percentage with just five goals allowed... four of the Jumbos' goals came from free position opportunities and Kranich's defense allowed just one goal during settled attack opportunities for Tufts... The keeper led W&L to 17 successful clears out of 18 attempts with a pair of groundballs and a forced turnover... This marks her second weekly award for the 2023 season... 

Week of Mar. 12 - Mar. 18

Monday, 3/13
Sophomore Evan Erb (Men's Tennis) - Erb continued his strong play for the 39th-ranked Generals with a 3-1 week himself for a 1-1 team performance ... played two singles and doubles matches, all from the top positions, with his lone blemish coming in a 5-7, 6-2, 3-6 to David Flisberg of Division I UNC-Greensboro ... Erb and doubles partner Evan Brady defeated Wyatt Cannon and Christopher Johns of UNCG, 8-5, as well as Rishi Charan Shankar and Andrew Watson of No. 26 Mary Washington, 8-6 ... he added a key singles win in the 5-4 team victory over the Eagles, as he downed Charan Shankar, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).

Junior Eugenie Rovegno (Women's Lacrosse) - Rovegno earned the league's defensive player of the week award, her second weekly award, after causing three turnovers, scooping up five ground balls and 3 draw controls in the team's only contest at No. 21 Catholic... Rovegno and the defense held CUA to just six goals and went 19-19 on clearing attempts in the team's 4th top-25 win this season...

Wednesday, 3/8
Senior Megan Kanaby (Women's Golf) - Kanaby is currently the 18th-ranked individual in DIII and was the top-finisher for the Blue and White at the Savannah Invitational... Kanaby placed eighth overall in a field of 95 players with a score card of 77-74—151 (+7)... Kanaby recorded two birdies on Monday and three on Tuesday and went for par on 19 holes over the two rounds... The Generals finished third of 18 with a score card of 310-313—623 (+47) 

Monday, 3/6
Junior Julia Thomson (Women's Lacrosse)
 - Thomson scored a hat trick over No. 7 Gettysburg including the 8th and 9th goal (within 30 seconds of the end of regulation) to tie the game up and force overtime after W&L trailed by three on two separate occasions... Thomson then assisted the game-winner with 14.5 seconds on the clock in the first OT periord to win the game 10-9 in the top-10 matchup to push the Generals to a 5-0 record... Thomson also added a goal at Ferrum in the mid-week game...

Sophomore Evan Erb (Men's Tennis) - Erb had an impressive week for the Generals as he posted a 2-2 overall record across singles and doubles play against stiff competition ... he faced off against and defeated Tshepo Mosarwa of No. 8 N.C. Wesleyan, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1 on Friday, before downing national No. 6 and regional No. 1 Thomas Yu of No. 11 Johns Hopkins, 6-2, 4-6, 10-7, on Sunday ... Erb and doubles partner Evan Brady, who are ranked 11th in the country and third in the region, faced Yu and his brother, James, at No. 1 doubles, and narrowly lost to the regional No. 1 and national No. 3 doubles team by an 8-7 (7-2) margin.

Week of Feb. 26 - Mar. 4

Monday, 2/27
Junior Gabi Moss (Women's Tennis)
 - Moss had a solid 2-1 week overall, with both wins coming from No. 2 singles, as the Generals fell to 18th-ranked Washington (Mo.) and topped DePauw, 8-1 ... defeated Sophia Huynh of WashU, 4-6, 7-5, 10-5, before cruising past Kat Wilder of DePauw, 6-0, 6-1 ... lone blemish on the week was an 8-3 loss at No. 3 doubles to WashU's Ainsley Heidbreder and Nina Moravek.

Junior Shannon Timoney (Women's Lacrosse) - Timoney led the Generals offense to an 11-8 win over Christopher Newport with four goals and one assist with the game-winner... Her goal and point totals against the captains was a career best performance for the midfielder... She also caused two turnovers and scooped up two ground balls... Timoney scored the third goal in the upset over the then fourth-ranked Salisbury.. over the week she totaled five goals and six points with a pair of draw controls.. This is her first ODAC Weekly Award honor... 

Junior Eugenie Rovegno (Women's Lacrosse) - Rovegno earned the league's defensive player of the week award, her first weekly award, after causing five turnovers, scooping up four ground balls and 16 draw controls in two games... Rovegno and the defense held CNU, who is receiving votes, to just eight goals... In Saturday's matchup, Rovegno was a lock-down defender and held a 2022 All-American scoreless and the Sea Gulls to just five goals in the top-10 upset...

Senior Carolyn Todd (Women's Indoor Track and Field)
 - Todd ran the fastest mile of the year in the league at the JDL DMR Invitational... Her time of 5:02.55 is a personal best in addition to being the second fastest mile time in program history... Todd is 33rd in the Division III the week before league championship meets... 

Monday, 2/20
Senior Allie Schwab (Women's Lacrosse)  - Schwab (Offensive Player of the Week) tallied four goals for the 8th-ranked Generals to upset No. 6 Franklin & Marshall 15-8 in the season opener on Sunday... Schwab scored the first goal of the 2023 season and three consecutive W&L goals from the 0:22 mark in the first quarter, the only goal in the second, to the first goal of the third to give the Blue and White a comfortable 8-3 lead... She tallied an assist on the 10th W&L goal to end with five points in Coach Maddie Coleman's first career win at the helm of the Generals...

Junior Caroline Kranich (Women's Lacrosse)  - Kranich (Defensive Player of the Week) faced 24 shots, 19 on goal, and made a career-high 11 stops in the 15-8 upset win over No. 6 Franklin & Marshall in the season opener on Sunday... She recorded a .579 save percentage with eight goals allowed... She scooped upa pair of groundballs and led the Generals to 19 successful clears out of 23 attempts... The goalkeeper did not concede a free-position goal to the Diplomats...

Senior Hudson Pokorny (Men's Lacrosse)  - Pokorny led the way for the 17th-ranked W&L offense in a comeback win over No. 7 York (Pa.) on Saturday ... tallied a game-high five points on two goals and three assists ... his second goal was the game-ender, as he scored with just under two minutes remaining in overtime to give the Generals the 11-10 win ... his first was at the 7:00 mark of the second quarter, which spurred the final 9-3 run the Blue and White needed to complete the comeback victory ... Pokorny's assist and point totals each matched career highs.

Junior Robert DiSibio (Men's Basketball) - DiSibio led the Generals scoring this week with 46 combined points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, a pair of steals for a 2-0 record on the week.. The Generals defeated Randolph on Wednesday 97-75  and upset No. 16 Hampden-Sydney 96-86 on Saturday... 

First-year Mary Schleusner (Women's Basketball) - helped the Generals close out the 2022-23 regular season with a 2-0 record last week to go into the ODAC Tournament with a 19-6 overall record and a program-record tying 16-2 conference mark ... averaged 14.5 points on 61.9 percent (13-21) shooting from the floor, while adding 7.5 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 4.0 steals and 4.5 blocks per game ... opened the week with 10 points, seven boards, three steals and three blocks in a 43-point win at Hollins, before adding 19 points, eight rebounds, two assists, five steals and six blocks in a 23-point victory over EMU on Saturday ... her 75 blocks this season are the second most in program history, and it is already the eighth highest career total for the program ... that mark, plus her average of 3.0 per game this season as well as 283 total rebounds, all lead the ODAC ... she is also fifth in the league in scoring (13.4) ... Generals' 19-6 overall record entering the ODAC Tournament leaves them one win shy of tying the program record for wins in a season, while their 16-2 ODAC record this season ties last year's team for the program record as well.

Sophomore Evan Blair (Baseball) - Blair entered Sunday's game trailing 4-3 ... in his four innings of play, Blair faced the minimum of 12 batters with five strikeouts ... This dominating performance kept Ursinus off the board long enough for W&L to take the lead with a five-run fifth inning.

Week of Feb. 5 - Feb. 12
Tuesday, 2/7
Junior Katelyn Gamble (Women's Track & Field)  - Gamble posted a program-record 200 meter time mark of 25.54 seconds to place second at the VMI Winter Relays... Her mark is the top time in the ODAC and currently #31 in the NCAA  and fourth fastest 60 meter time in DIII this year at the VMI Winter Classic... She clocked in at 7.68 seconds during the semifinals and finished 6th in a Division I heavy field... Katelyn's mark is the top time in the ODAC this season... 

Week of Jan. 29 - Feb. 4
Tuesday, 1/31
Junior Katelyn Gamble (Women's Track & Field)  - Gamble posted a season-best and fourth fastest 60 meter time in DIII this year at the VMI Winter Classic... She clocked in at 7.68 seconds during the semifinals and finished 6th in a Division I heavy field... Katelyn's mark is the top time in the ODAC this season... 

Monday, 1/30
First-year Dalton Jobe (Men's Swimming) - closed out the regular season with two solo wins and a relay win, helping the 24th-ranked Generals to a victory over crosstown rival VMI ... won the 200 free (1:42.80) and 200 IM (1:55.82), and helped the 200 medley relay (1:34.44) to a win by swimming the anchor leg ... Jobe currently leads the ODAC in the 200 free (1:41.47) and is second in the 200 IM (1:54.37).

Week of Jan. 22 - Jan. 28

Monday, 1/23
Sophomore Matt Fritz (Men's Swimming) - Fritz was the Generals' top swimmer in a big win at Randolph-Macon on Saturday, as the only swimmer with multiple individual wins ... he swam a season-best time in winning the 100 breast (1:00.41) and was just 0.21 seconds off his season-fastest time in his win in the 100 fly (51.94) ... also aided the 200 medley relay to a win as well for a team-high three total wins.

Senior Ryan Luth (Wrestling) - Regionally Ranked No. 1 Luth (157 lbs) went 2-0 in a pair of conference duals this week over Shenandoah, a fall (0:31) over Xavier Locke....  then he posted 6-1 decision win over regionally ranked No. 2 Jesse Alvarado (Averett) on Saturday evening... The Generals won both duals with scores of 43-10 and 28-6, respectively.

Senior Cameron Blizard (Wrestling) - Regionally Ranked No. 5 Blizard (184 lbs) went 2-0 in both conference duals.. He defeated Shenandoah's Dylan Wiegert by technical fall 18-2 at 3:12... At Averett, Blizard upset fourth-ranked Khalil Mitchell by Decision 7-3... The Generals won both duals with scores of 43-10 and 28-6, respectively.

Week of Jan. 15 - Jan. 21

Monday, 1/16
Junior Sophia Rollo (Women's Swimming) - Rollo helped the 20th-ranked Generals to a comfortable 162-100 win over No. 21 Gettysburg on Saturday with two wins, a runner-up and a relay win ... wins came in the 100 back (59.78) and 200 back (2:08.84), and she also closed out a win for the 200 free relay (1:39.90) ... Rollo continues to lead the ODAC in the 200 IM, and she's also the owner of the second-fastest times in both the 100 and 200 back.

First-year Mary Schleusner (Women's Basketball) - Schleusner dominated the boards last week, helping W&L stay atop the ODAC standings with a pair of conference wins, by pulling down a program-record 23 rebounds against Roanoke, followed by another 16 boards in a 25-point road win at R-MC ... in her 23-rebound game, Schleusner paced the offense with 25 points ... her 23 rebounds bested the previous program record of 21 set by Megan Babst on December 2, 1999 ... it was also just the third 20-rebound game in program history and the first since Babst finished with 20 on January 5, 2001 ... it was also the first 20-20 game posted by an ODAC player since Kelly Williams finished with 20 points and 20 rebounds for Randolph-Macon on November 16, 2018 ... Schleusner not only recorded 16 rebounds in the win over Randolph-Macon, but she also blocked seven shots, which was one shy of her season high ... she became just the second player in program history to have multiple career games with seven or more blocks (Jessica Hunsinger) ... for the week, Schleusner averaged 22.0 points, 19.5 rebounds and 5.0 blocks per game ... she remains the ODAC leader in total blocks (44) and blocks per game (2.8) this season, and she now leads the conference in rebounds per game (11.0) and is fourth in scoring (14.0).

Senior Ryan Luth (Wrestling) - Luth went 5-0 at the Budd Whitehill Duals to help the Generals post a 4-1 dual record over Friday and Saturday... Luth's victories included three major decisions... Luth defeated Kyle Klein (Cortland State) Dec 7-0... Logan McGloine (Oswego State) Maj 14-4... Zack Schneider (No. 8 Wisconsin-Eau Claire) Dec 2-1... Jake Deguire (Springfield) Maj 12-0... Garret Cornell (Messiah) Maj 11-1... Cornell and McGloine were both ranked 5th in their respective regions at the time of the match... No. 8 UW-Eau Clair was W&L's only loss and were the eventual tournament champions... W&L placed 5th... 

Week of Dec. 18 - Jan. 1
Monday, 1/2
Junior Robert DiSibio (Men's Basketball) - DiSibio led the Generals to a 3-1 record over the holiday break and averaged 28 points and 6.5 rebounds per game over the two week stretch.. he dished out six assists and recorded five steals... DiSibio was named to the W&L Holiday All-Tournament Team and recorded a double-double against No. 20 University of Mary Washington in the tournament's championship game... 

Week of Nov. 20 - 26

Monday, 11/21
Junior Jack d'Entremont (Men's Basketball) - D'Entremont put a pair of double-doubles in three games this week and averaged 16.7 ppg and a week-high 25 points in a 85-84 OT loss to No. 4 Christopher Newport... went 15-31 from the field and 19-21 from the FT line... he grabbed 36 rebounds and dished out eight assists with three blocked shots.

Junior John Ryan Sedovy (Wrestling) - John Ryan posted a 4-0 week in dual matches with a pair of ODAC wins against Roanoke and Greensboro... Against Roanoke's Cam Cavins, he posted a 3-1 sudden victory win... he posted falls against Greensboro's Joseph Akers (3:32) and Thomas More's Zach Watson (6:04) and a major decision win over Huntingdon's Jeffery Tubbs (12-4)... The team went 3-1.

First-year Dalton Jobe (Men's Swimming) - helped the Generals to a second-place finish at the annual Franklin and Marshall Invitational with five total Top 5 finishes ... his efforts were highlighted on the second day when he won the 400 IM in an ODAC-record time of 4:02.19, besting the previous record by 0.58 seconds (15th in D3) ... he also swam 4:37.05 in the prelims of the 500 free, 20th in Division III ... on relays, Jobe's 400 free and 400 medley updated their ODAC-leading times to 3:05.81 in the free (10th in D3) and 3:26.11 in the medley (15th in D3).

Junior Brynn Martinson (Women's Swimming) - totaled three wins and six Top 2 finishes in leading No. 22 W&L to a first-place finish at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational over the weekend ... updated her ODAC-leading times in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events, and now ranks 13th in Division III in the 50 and 15th in the 100 ... was also part of two winning relays and a second-place relay with new season-best times in each of the 200 and 400 free relays and the 400 medley relay; all three remain atop the ODAC standings and rank 11th, 11th and 12th, respectively, in the nation.

First-year Mary Schleusner (Women's Basketball) - helped the Generals to a 2-0 week in the ODAC with averages of 14 points and 10.5 rebounds, giving W&L a 3-0 start the season for the first time since the 2017-18 campaign ... began the week with nine points and 12 rebounds in a 39-point win over EMU, adding three assists and two blocks to her line ... then tallied 19 points (7-11 FG), nine boards, four assists, two steals and a block in a 79-72 road win over Guilford on Saturday ... for the week, Schleusner added averages of 3.5 assists, 1 steal and 1.5 blocks, while shooting 47.6 percent (10-21) from the field.

Week of Nov. 13 - Nov. 19

Tuesday, 11/15
First-year Dalton Jobe (Men's Swimming) - won a race and placed second in two others in a W&L loss to 10th-ranked Carnegie Mellon on Saturday ... his win came in the 200 free and his runner-ups came in the 100 free and 200 IM ... updated his ODAC-leading times in the 200 free and 200 IM, and he continues to lead the conference in the 100 free with his time set against Lynchburg two weeks ago.

Junior Brynn Martinson (Women's Swimming) - claimed W&L's lone event win in a 199-63 loss at No. 12 Carnegie Mellon on Saturday, as well as two second-place efforts, among her individual races ... won the 50 free and came in second in both the 100 and 200 free ... also swam on the third-place 200 free relay, which updated its ODAC-leading time to 1:40.19.

Week of Oct. 30 - Nov. 5

Monday, 10/24
First-Year Betty Boatwright (Field Hockey) - Scored two goals for the No. 18 W&L field hockey team over No. 14 Shenandoah.. she scored the game-winning goal over SU... In the game finale she scored a goal and dished out an assist at Bridgewater.. totalled 7 points in her first weekly award honor... 

First-year Dalton Jobe (Men's Swimming) - raced in three individual races and won all three to help the Generals to a road win at Lynchburg on Saturday ... set new season highs in each of the 100 free, 200 free and 200 IM, and he now leads the ODAC in all three.

Junior Brynn Martinson (Women's Swimming) - won all four events in which she swam, earning solo wins in the 50, 100 and 200 free, while also helping the 200 medley relay to first place in No. 22 W&L's win over Lynchburg on Saturday ... set new season highs in each individual race, with her 50 free time currently ranking fifth in Division III and her 100 free ranking sixth.

Week of Oct. 23 - Oct. 29

Monday, 10/24
Senior Samuel Bass (Men's Soccer) - accounted for one goal in both games last week, helping No. 11 Washington and Lee to a 2-0 week in the ODAC ... assisted on the only score in a 1-0 win over Randolph on Wednesday, before he scored W&L's first goal in a 3-1 win at R-MC on Saturday ... Bass now has the third most career assists in program history (21), and he's just one away from tying for the second most ... W&L is undefeated over its last 15 games (11-0-4), tied for the second longest single-season streak in program history.

Senior Lindsay White (Women's Soccer)scored in both of No. 20 W&L's games last week, helping the team to a 2-0 week in the ODAC to remain undefeated this season at 12-0-4 ... scored the game-winner in the 87th minute against Bridgewater to hand the Eagles their first conference loss of the season ... opened the scoring in a 4-0 win at Averett on Saturday ... both of White's goals were credited as game-winners ... White's two goals last week give her seven for the season, tied for seventh in the conference ... W&L's 16-game undefeated start to the season is the third longest in program history to start a season, and it's tied for the fourth longest overall run in program history.

Week of Oct. 16 - Oct. 22
Tuesday, 10/18
Sophomore Laetitia Roegner (Women's Golf) played her way into a top-10 finish among the national field at Golfweek's Division III Fall Invitational.... Roegner's card, 73-71-76 --220 (+4), was good for seventh pace out of the 120 individuals at the event... the No. 6 Generals placed fifth in a field of 24 programs including seven top-25 teams... Her one-under par round on day two was the best score for the Generals and she his a team-best 36 hols in par with seven total birdies... She played her best holes on par five's, averaging par across three rounds, at the Baytown Golf Club in Sandestin, Fla...

Senior Carolyn Todd (Women's Cross Country) led the No. 32 Generals to a fifth place finish in a field of 33 programs at the Inter-Regional Rumble in Oberlin, Ohio on Saturday... Todd's 6k time of 22:14.6 was good for sixth place in the field of 282 runners and helped the Blue and White to a score of 187 points.. She picks up her second Athlete of the Week title for the 2022 cross country season...

Monday, 10/17
Junior Sydney Heifner (Volleyball) led the Generals to a 4-0 week to earn ODAC Player of the Week Honors... She registered 89 kills including a career-best and game-high of 27 against conference rival Randolph-Macon...on defense she tallied 55 digs with four total blocks... From the service line she notched nine aces.. Heifner totaled 100 points this week and helped the Blue and White rally past a pair of conference and non conference matches, three of which went into five sets... 

Junior Sydney Smith (Women's Soccer) held two clean sheets in goal for the Blue and White defense to lift the Generals in a 2-0 week that included a 1-0 win over nationally-ranked Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday... She saw a combined 22 shots and made ten stops to pick up her ninth and tenth win in goal for the year and her seventh shutout... 

First-Year Paige McBoyle (Women's Swimming) won twice and picked up second and third place finishes in W&L's 179-82 dual meet victory at the University of Mary Washington... She won both the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:09.56 and 200-yard breaststroke at 2:28.93, the mark is tops in the ODAC and ranks 13th in NCAA Division III... Her 100-breastroke time as well as her second place posting of 2:17.78 in the 200-yard individual medley are both top-five in the ODAC... McBoyle also swam a leg of the third place 200-yard medley relay, which stopped the watches at 1:54.68...

First-Year Dalton Jobe (Men's Swimming) won three individual events at the University of Mary Washington dual meet to help Washington and Lee secure a 168-94 win... Jobe improved upon his season-best 500-yard freestyle time with a winning mark of 4:50.57, which ranks #1 in the ODAC and sits 16th in NCAA Division III... Jobe also earned top finishes in the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley with times of 1:45.11 and 1:58.48, respectively... 

Week of Oct. 9 - Oct. 15

Wednesday, 10/11
Senior Pierce Robinson (Men's Golf) claimed the ODAC Men's Golfer of the Week accolade for the second straight week after finishing tied for second in the Royal Lakes Invitational at the Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club in Flowery Branch... Robinson's card tied a career best 67-70—137 (-7) and shot the lowest round of the tournament, five-under par on the first day... Robinson led the field in par four scoring, averaging a 3.7 strokes for a combined six-under and 10 total birdies... The Blue and White won the tournament 285-286—571(-5), the best 36-hole score in program history...

Monday, 10/10
Junior Will Hughes (Men's Swimming) - took part in seven total wins in W&L's opening week of events, with one individual and six relays ... in a win over Centre to open the season on Friday, he won the 50 free and swam on the winning 200 medley relay and 200 free relay ... then helped the 400 free relay, 500 free relay, 200 medley relay and 200 free relay to wins at the ODAC Relays, as the Generals topped the eight-team field ... Hughes ranks Top 20 in Division III in multiple events, including fourth in both the 200 and 400 free relays, seventh in the 200 medley relay and 20th in the 50 free.

Junior Brynn Martinson (Women's Swimming) - had a hand in eight total wins for the Generals in their opening week of action ... won the 50 and 100 free in a 193-120 win over Centre on Friday, while also helping the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay to wins that night as well ... at Saturday's ODAC Relays, she tied for the team-high by swimming on four winning relays, including the 100 free relay, 400 free relay, 500 free relay and 200 medley relay ... Martinson and her relay teams already rank in the Top 10 in Division III, with the 200 free relay third, 400 free relay fourth, 200 medley relay fifth, 100 free seventh and 50 free eighth.

Week of Oct. 2 - Oct. 8

Senior Pierce Robinson (Men's Golf) claimed the ODAC Men's Golfer of the Week accolade after finishing tied for seventh in the NCAA DIII Men's Fall Preview at the Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky ... Robinson carded 77-69-75—221(+5) and shot the second-lowest round of the preview with a three-under par on the second day... Robinson recorded 10 birdies and an Eagle in the Tournament...Robinson led the Generals to a second place finish in team standings...

Week of Sept. 18 - Sept. 24

Wednesday, 9/21
Sophomore An Shelmire (Women's Golf) claimed her first collegiate individual scoring title in a national field of 95 women at the NCAA DIII Women's Fall Preview... Shelmire carded rounds of 75 and 71 to finish at 2-over par 146 following two rounds on the El Campeon Golf Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla...  notched five birdies and registered 24 pars during the preview... top-performer in par three scoring (2.75 average, -2)... her one-under 71 in round two tied for the second lowest 18 holes in the tournament...

Monday, 9/19
Sophomore Ann Riley Huber (Women's Soccer) - Huber helped the Generals to a 2-0 week in nonconference play with three points on one goal and one assist ... assisted on the team's third goal in a 3-1 win over Covenant on Saturday, a Grace Wielechowski goal in the 86th minute ... followed that up by scoring the game-winner in a 2-1 win at Berry (Ga.) on Sunday in the 58th minute to break a 1-1 tie ... the goal against Berry came following a steal at midfield, a fake out of a defender on a run up the field and a long-distance finish to the top-left corner of the goal. 

Week of Sept. 4 - Sept. 10

Tuesday, 9/6
Senior Carolyn Todd (Women's Cross Country) - Todd led the Generals to a first place team finish at Dickinson's Light Up the Night invitational on August 1 ... ran the 5k race in a time of 18:45.6 ... took first in a field of 44 runners ... team totaled 25 total points in the victory.

Law Student Charles Scharf (Men's Cross Country) - Scharf crossed the finish line first of 41 runners at the Shenandoah Twilight Opener on September 1... Scharf's 5K time of 15:22.7 helped the Generals achieve a near-perfect team score ... pacing the Blue and White with 18 total points and a first place finish.
