Olivia Warr placed sixth overall as members of the No. 16 Washington and Lee University women's cross country team finished third in a Division I-field at the Hokie Invitational on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Warr led the Generals across the line for the second consecutive meet, completing the 6-kilometer course in 21:37.8 to finish sixth overall. Her performance placed her fifth among runners contributing to the team scoring.
Sophomore
Adelaide Ellis was the second W&L runner to finish, crossing the line 14th overall with a time of 23:01.7.
First-year
Emma Watson followed in 21st place, clocking 23:21.6, while fellow first-year
Annabel Bayler finished 26th in 23:34.1.
First-year
Laura Sallade rounded out the Generals' scoring five just one position behind Bayler, placing 27th overall in 23:36.6.
W&L totaled 84 points to finish third in the six-team field and was the top non-Division I varsity program. Virginia Tech won the meet with 17 points, followed by East Tennessee State with 56. The Generals finished five points ahead of Division I Radford, which placed fourth with 89 points.
Up next, members of the Generals squad will race at the Hornet Harrier hosted by Shenandoah University tomorrow, September 19.
