W&L Wrestling Dominates Shenandoah on the Road

WINCHESTER, Va. — The Washington and Lee University men's wrestling team delivered a dominant performance Thursday night, sweeping Shenandoah University 48–0 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference dual. The Generals (7-4, 2-0 ODAC) won eight contested bouts, recording seven bonus-point victories, including four falls and three technical falls, to secure the shutout over the Hornets (2-6, 0-4).

Washington and Lee controlled the match from start to finish, conceding no team points and building separation immediately through the middle of the lineup.

Up Next: Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday, traveling to face Randolph College in Lynchburg, Va. The dual is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

After the teams traded a double forfeit at 125, the Generals seized control beginning at 133. Calvin Wiedemer opened the scoring with a forfeit win before Skyler Hickman ignited a run of bonus points with a first-period fall at 141. From there, W&L rolled through the heart of the lineup, as Evan Lindner and Liam Flanagan followed with back-to-back technical falls at 149 and 157.

Momentum continued at 165 when Noah Danforth secured a fall just over one minute into his bout. Jacob Wright added another technical fall at 174, and Sam Tignor capped the upper-middle weights with a hard-fought decision at 184. The Generals closed the dual emphatically with falls from Maxx Miller at 197 and Carter Stack at heavyweight, sealing the shutout victory.
