Senior Day Sends Women's Swimming Past Randolph-Macon and Chowan

LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee University women's swimming team capped Senior Day with a pair of convincing head-to-head victories on Saturday afternoon at the W&L Natatorium. The Generals defeated Randolph-Macon College, 179–81, and Chowan University, 204–23, closing the regular-season home slate in dominant fashion.

W&L's women's squad showcased depth across the lineup, winning 13 of 14 events, recording multiple 1–2–3 finishes, and winning both relay events to secure the tri-meet sweep.


Prior to the first whistle, Washington and Lee Swimming honored its senior class at the W&L Natatorium, celebrating a group that helped lead a successful four-year stretch in program history. From 2022–23 through the current season, the seniors contributed to three consecutive ODAC team championships for each program, a combined 44-15 record and undefeated in ODAC duals. The group of 22 seniors have collectively participated in 31 NCAA Championship events and recorded 11 program records, leaving a lasting impact on the Generals' success in and out of the pool.

The men's and women's swimming seniors include Clara Attar, Meagan Baxley, Margaret Beimdiek, Charles Byars, Patrick Carr, Harrison Cerone, Thomas Denton, Aidan Dold, Dani Hackman, Jackson Hall, Dalton Jobe, Maria Jellig, Amelia Macholz, Isabella Malchow, Paige McBoyle, Patrick Murphy, Rhodes Pharr, Dylan Reher, Schuyler Ross, Jake Shaud, Morgan Smith, and Caleb Yau.




Up Next: Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 24, traveling across Main Street to face Virginia Military Institute at the VMI Aquatic Center in Lexington, Virginia, with the meet scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
