GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Washington and Lee University wrestling team continued its strong season on Saturday night, earning a commanding 41-12 victory over Greensboro College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) dual.
With the win, W&L improved to 13-3 overall and 4-1 in ODAC duals, while Greensboro fell to 3-5 overall and 2-5 in conference action. The Generals secured victories in eight of the 10 bouts, including three wins by fall and a technical fall.
Anthony Urso (125 pounds) set the tone for W&L with a first-period pin in just 45 seconds, while Mark Troni (165) and Tucker Bellanca (197) also earned falls at 2:46 and 4:38, respectively. Jacob Wright (174) delivered a dominant technical fall victory, 15-0, in just 2:55, further extending the Generals' lead.
Washington and Lee also benefited from three forfeit wins at 133, 149, and 157 pounds, adding to the team's scoring advantage.
