YORK, Pa. — The No. 22 Washington and Lee University wrestling team delivered a landmark performance on Saturday, producing 11 podium finishes — the most of any team in the field — and placing second overall at the prestigious New Standard Corporation Invitational, hosted by York College (Pa.).

The Generals finished with 125.5 points, marking the highest team finish in program history at the event and narrowly trailing champion No. 8 North Central (129.5).

W&L's championship trio of Liam Flanagan (157), Evan Lindner (149) and Carter Stack (285) led the charge, each navigating deep brackets to claim individual titles. Skyler Hickman (141) reached the finals and finished as runner-up after a strong two-day run, while Noah Danforth (157) battled through the semifinals before securing a fourth-place finish.

Depth was the story of the weekend as the Generals placed wrestlers across nearly every weight class. Evan Owen (149) and Vincent Ziccardi (133) earned fifth-place finishes, while Calvin Wiedemer (133), Jacob Wright (174), John Santowski (197) and Kweku Arthur-Mensah (285) each recorded sixth. With eleven total placers — four in championship bouts— W&L outpaced all 16 competing teams in podium appearances.
