Wrestling Takes Two Wins in Crytzer Duals

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee University wrestling team showcased a strong performance at the Crytzer Duals on Friday night, securing commanding victories against Washington and Jefferson (38-9) and McDaniel (30-20) in front of the home crowd.

In the opener against Washington and Jefferson, the Generals set the tone with a decisive 38-9 win. Highlights included:

The Generals carried their momentum into the second dual, edging out McDaniel 30-20. Key performances included:

  • 141: Skyler Hickman earned a lightning-fast pin against Juston Shiflett (0:29).
  • 165: Mark Troni secured another fall, defeating Avery Cummings (4:24).
  • 174: Jacob Wright dominated with a technical fall over Soren Wynn (21-3, 5:49).
  • 197: John Santowski edged out a 3-0 decision, and 285: Carter Stack sealed the dual with a pin against Kaden Bryan (3:57).

Washington and Lee's wrestling program will continue the weekend at home and host the Jim Crytzer Invitational on Saturday in Holekamp Gym. The first preliminary bouts are slated for 9 a.m.
