D’Ambrosia Sets New Pole Vault Record at Dani Palooza Last Chance Meet

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Ashley D'Ambrosia of the Washington and Lee University women's track and field team set a new program record in the pole vault on Sunday afternoon at the Dani Palooza Last Chance Meet at High Point University. 

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • D'Ambrosia broke her own program record in the pole vault on Sunday afternoon. After entering at 3.46m, she soared over the bar at 3.61m on her first attempt before clearing a new personal best and program record of 3.76m (12'-04.00") on her third and final attempt. Her mark ranks 19th in DIII this season.
  • Katelyn Gamble competed in the 100m dash this afternoon, finishing in second place after crossing the finish line in 11.96s. 
  • Amanda Romano clocked in a time of 1:04.57 in the 400m hurdles to finish in second place. 
  • Bailey Hedgemon was the lone thrower in the field for the Generals today, tying her program record that she established on Friday at Mount Olive. Hedgemon recorded a toss of 48.65m (159'-07.25") to finish in seventh place.

  • The Generals are back in action tomorrow, May 13 as they compete in the Widener Final Qualifier. The action is set to start at 11 a.m. in Chester, Pa.
