2024 Swimming Senior Day

Women’s Swimming Wallops Randolph-Macon on Senior Day, 183-74

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Washington and Lee University women's swimming team celebrated the program's eight seniors with a dominating 183-74 victory over Randolph-Macon College on Saturday afternoon. 

Prior to the meet, the team honored Pari Ahmadi, Mary Ardoin, Lawson Brantley, Tess Deyerle, Brynn Martinson, Molly Pennisi, Sophia Rollo and Allyssa Utecht. As a group, the eight seniors have posted a 16-3 dual meet record while claiming two Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships. 

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • The Blue and White won 13 of the 14 events this afternoon to win their fifth dual meet of the season. Eight different Generals won 11 individual events while both relay teams claimed gold. 
  • Brynn Martinson and Bella Tarbet led the Generals with four total wins, two solo and two relay. Martinson and Tarbet were a part of the 200 medley (1:49.06) and freestyle (1:38.67) relay teams that claimed gold. Martinson tallied wins in the 100 (53.02) and 200 (1:38.67) freestyle while Tarbet notched wins in the 50 freestyle (24.58) and the 100 butterfly with an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) best 57.84.
  • Sophia Rollo and Clara Attar each recorded three total wins for W&L, Rollo was a part of both winning relay teams while Attar contributed to the 200 medley relay win. Attar netted two individual wins in the 100 (1:09.61) and 200 (2:31.16) breaststroke while Rollo claimed gold in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:09.75.
  • Tess Deyerle, Haley Robinson, Ruth Crane and Maria Jellig each won one event in the win.

  • Tess Deyerle - 100 Backstroke (1:00.99)
  • Clara Attar - 100 Breaststroke (1:09.61); 200 Breaststroke (2:31.16)
  • Haley Robinson - 200 Butterfly (2:15.81)
  • Bella Tarbet - 50 Freestyle (24.58); 100 Butterfly (57.84)
  • Sophia Rollo - 200 Backstroke (2:09.75)
  • Ruth Crane - 500 Freestyle (5:20.31)
  • Maria Jellig - 400 IM (4:46.23)
