No. 20 W&L powers past Yellow Jackets on the road

ASHLAND, Va. – The No. 20 Washington and Lee women's swimming team used a balanced effort to defeat Randolph-Macon, 160-101, on Saturday afternoon.
 
Highlights from the meet:
-The Generals claimed victory in 10 of the 14 events on the day, including eight wins in individual races from eight different swimmers.
 
-Junior Brynn Martinson (Charlotte, N.C. / South Mecklenburg) and sophomore Myla Rice (Alexandria, Va. / T.C. Williams) had a hand in three wins each. Martinson won the 100 free (54.37) and Rice was first in the 100 fly (1:00.33), while both helped the 200 medley relay (1:52.80) and 200 free relay (1:40.78) to wins as well.
 
-Junior Sophia Rollo (Haddonfield, N.J. / Haddonfield Memorial) and sophomore Bella Tarbet (East Hampton, N.Y. / East Hampton) also tallied multiple wins apiece, including joining Martinson and Rice on the 200 free relay win. Individually, Rollo won the 200 free (2:01.19) and Tarbet won the 50 free (25.67).
 
-Juniors Lawson Brantley (Charlotte, N.C. / Covenant Day School) and Tess Deyerle (Midlothian, Va. / St. Catherine's) and first-years Meagan Baxley (Roanoke, Va. / Hidden Valley) and Maria Jellig (Haddonfield, N.J. / Haddonfield Memorial) rounded out the Blue and White winners. Brantley's win came in the 200 fly (2:16.12), Deyerle's in the 200 back (2:10.69), Baxley's in the 200 fly (2:16.12) and Jellig's in the 100 back (1:01.20).
