LEXINGTON, Va. The Washington and Lee University wrestling squad defeated Shenandoah University 43-10 on Thursday evening in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference dual meet.

The Generals (9-2, 3-1 ODAC) registered four pins over the Hornets (2-5, 0-3) and added two technical falls in the senior night match.

SU forfeited a pair of bouts and just two weight classes went the full length of time.

Prior to the match, the program's five seniors Cameron Blizard (Greensboro, N.C. / Ragsdale), Ryan Luth (Milford, Conn. Joseph A. Foran), Riley Parker (Virginia Beach, Va. / First Colonial), Matt Majoy (Syosset, N.Y. / Syosset) and Alex Winant (Chester, N.J. / West Morris Mendham) were honored. Over the past four years, the wrestling program has posted a 27-12 dual record and 13 conference wins. The now-seniors helped W&L place first in the Centennial Conference Championships in both 2020 and 2022. At the NCAA Regional Championships, the team placed second during their rookie campaigns and then earned a fourth place team finish in the region last season.

Parker opened the night with a 20-4 technical fall over Elliot Rivera 20-4 (3:14). Parker recorded five takedowns and a pair of four-point nearfalls in the first period. Fourteen seconds into the second period Parker's takedown wrapped up the 125 lbs bout.

Colin Bridges (Virginia Beach, Va. / Frank W. Cox) posted a fall over Cameron Hatchett early in the 149 class (0:35) and Luth  wrapped up Xavier Locke (0:31) in the ensuing match.

The 165 weight class was the first bout to go the distance and Harrison Kelly (Berkley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) scored a 13-6 decision with four takedowns, two reversals and a riding time point.

Blizard ran out of time in the first period for a pin, in the last minute of the first stanza the senior scored three separate nearfalls and had complete control as the clock expired as the referee was mid-count. The senior had a 16-2 advantage going into the second period. He registered the final takedown for the technical nearfall at 184.

John Ryan Sedovy (Lexington, Va. / Rockbridge) registered the final pin of the night at the 2:13 mark in the 197 weight class.
