Men's Swimming leads after first day at ODAC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Washington and Lee men's swimming team began its quest for a conference title with a win in the 800 free relay at the 2022 ODAC Championships on Thursday evening.
 
Highlights from the meet:
 
-The Generals scored 40 points with the win, and they were followed by Roanoke in second to earn 34 points and Lynchburg in third for 32 points.
 
-First-year Luke Nagel (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga), sophomores Bennett Ehret (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) and Will Hughes (Fairfax, Va./James W. Robinson Secondary) and junior Dawson Kramer (Taylors, S.C./Eastside) made up the relay team for the Generals, as they finished in a time of 6:49.57.
 
-W&L finished in front of Roanoke's relay by a close 1.20-second margin, followed by Lynchburg with a time of 7:01.92.
 
Up next:
 
The Generals will be back for the second day of the ODAC Championships on Friday, with preliminary events beginning at 10:00 am and finals at 6:00 pm.
