LEXINGTON, Va. – The 22nd-ranked Washington and Lee women's swimming team closed out the regular season with a 195-60 win over VMI on Saturday afternoon.
Highlights from the meet:
-The Generals won 11-of-14 events on the day, with 12 different swimmers having a hand in the individual and relay wins. Individually, eight swimmers combined for nine solo wins.
-Sophomore
Brynn Martinson (Charlotte, N.C./South Mecklenburg) was the lone General to win multiple individual races, as she topped the field in the 50 free (24.62) and 100 free (54.31). She also swam the second leg for the winning 400 free relay (3:42.20).
-Sophomores
Sophia Rollo (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) and
Allyssa Utecht (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) both won one race apiece and joined Martinson on the 400 free relay. Rollo was the victor in the 200 back (2:10.75), while Utecht won the 500 free (5:20.97).
-Senior
Turner Bobbitt (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) also helped W&L to two wins, as she swam the first leg of the 200 medley relay (1:51.60) and went on to win the 100 fly (59.58).
