PITTSBURGH – The Washington and Lee men's swimming team suffered a 215-47 defeat at the hands of eighth-ranked Carnegie Mellon on Saturday.
Highlights from the meet:
-W&L tallied nine top-four finishes, including six in the Top 3. Six different swimmers combined for seven top-four placings in individual races.

Stephen Ewing (Las Cruces, N.M. / Las Cruces) led the way with a pair of third-place efforts in the 1000 free (10:26.11) and 500 free (4:58.77). First-year
Luke Nagel (Wayne, Pa. / Conestoga) tallied a team-best second in the 200 free (1:46.61).
-Sophomore
Will Hughes (Fairfax, Va. / James W. Robinson Secondary) rounded out the Generals to finish in the Top 3 in individual events, which came in the 200 back (2:01.20).
