LEXINGTON, Va. – The 20th-ranked Washington and Lee women's swimming team defeated Lynchburg in a home dual meet by a score of 153-103 on Saturday afternoon.
Highlights from the meet:
-The Generals won 11 out of 14 events on the day and saw six different swimmers combine for nine individual event wins. In total, eight different swimmers contributed to at least one event win.
-W&L was led by sophomore
Brynn Martinson (Charlotte, N.C./South Mecklenburg), who won three individual events and swam on a winning relay. Her individual wins came in the 50 free (24.20), 100 free (53.16) and 200 free (1:57.47), and she swam the opening leg of the 200 free relay (1:38.93) to close the meet.
-Sophomore
Sophia Rollo (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) also contributed to four wins, but split it between two individual events and two relays. She won the 100 back (1:00.09) and 200 back (2:09.32), opened for the 200 medley relay (1:50.06) and anchored the 200 free relay.
-Senior
Caroline Baber (Richmond, Va./Collegiate School) added an individual win in the 100 fly (59.06) and swam the second leg on both relays.
