LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's swimming team posted a 145-117 win over Mary Washington in its first dual meet of the season on Saturday afternoon.
Highlights from the meet:
-Both teams won seven events on the day. W&L had six of the seven wins come in individual races and spread those wins across four different swimmers. In total, eight swimmers tallied a combined 15 top-two finishes in individual races.
-The Generals were led by strong efforts from sophomores
Brynn Martinson (Charlotte, N.C. / South Mecklenburg) and
Sophia Rollo (Haddonfield, N.J. / Haddonfield Memorial). Both won two individual races and placed second in another, while Martinson helped the 200 free relay (1:39.22) to a win to close the meet. Martinson topped the field in the 50 free (24.58) and 100 free (53.85) and Rollo won the 100 back (1:00.10) and 200 back (2:09.77). Rollo's runner-up finish came in the 200 IM (2:13.24).

Turner Bobbitt (Charlotte, N.C. / Myers Park) and first-year
Katharine Alsobrook (Lawrenceville, Ga. / Greater Atlanta Christian School) won one individual event each, with Bobbitt taking the top spot in the 100 fly (1:00.39) and Alsobrook in the 1000 free (11:06.71).

Caroline Baber (Richmond, Va. / Collegiate School) and junior
Sally Ennis (Richmond, Va. / Collegiate School) also performed strongly with two second-place finishes apiece, with Baber in the 100 breast (1:09.85) and 200 breast (2:31.93) and Ennis in the 100 back (1:00.43) and 200 back (2:12.57).
