FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's swimming team fell to Mary Washington 139-123 on Friday night.

First-year Elisabeth Holmes (Raleigh, N.C. / Needham B. Broughton) picked up a first place finish in the 1000 free in a time of 10:39.79, 500 free (5:12.52) and the 200 free (1:57.06). Classmate Emily Rollo (Haddonfield, N.J. / Haddonfield Memorial) also picked up a first-place finish in the 100 back, touching the wall in 1:02.78. She also placed first in the 100 back (2:14.38).

Lauren Kasoff (Owings Mills, Md. / Saint Paul's) placed second in the 100 fly (1:02.00), while Natalie Brendsel (Oakton, Va. / Flint Hill) placed third in the 100 free (55.28).

The 400 free relay, swam by Sarah Schaffer (Wheaton, Ill. / Wheaton Warrenville South), Meredith Hardy (Cary, N.C. / Athens Drive), Bendsel and Holmes took first place in a time of 3:41.63.
